RESOURCES
In this episode, Growing Through Hardships with Katelyn Kaney, we cover: Resources & Links: Connect with Katelyn: Connect with Jessie: Be sure to subscribe/follow the show so you never miss an episode! Katelyn Kaney is an American businesswoman. She is the CEO of Cattaneo Bros, a handcrafted snacks company, that was founded in 1947 and remains one of the oldest family owned and operated jerky and sausage factories in America. Katelyn was born and raised in San Luis Obispo, California to Michael and Jayne Kaney. Katelyn, along with her three siblings, grew up watching her parents operate multiple family businesses (including Cattaneo Bros) while building deep roots in the local community. After graduating from Cal Poly in 2005 with a Bachelors Degree in Agribusiness, Katelyn began working for Cattaneo Bros leading new business expansion in Northern and Central California. In 2006, Katelyn stepped in to help run Cattaneo Bros after her mom was diagnosed with cancer. This would allow her dad to spend more time at home to focus on Jayne’s treatment. However, less than one year later, Katelyn’s dad was suddenly diagnosed with Leukemia and passed away. Katelyn’s journey through the loss of her parents and her brother Michael Kaney II, has left her with a renewed mission to raise awareness about healthy eating, the importance of reading ingredients, and living an active lifestyle. With a background in agriculture, she has always valued knowing where her food came from and fostering respectful relationships with ranchers and farmers. As CEO of Cattaneo Bros Katelyn works closely with her team to develop healthy products that are made with simple ingredients, low waste, and ensure a commitment to the ethical treatment of animals. When Katelyn is not running Cattaneo Bros you will find her in her most important role as mom to her twin 8 year old boys, Brody and Hudson. She loves to golf and do all things outdoors with her boys, as well as volunteering in the community and continuing to build on the strong foundation that her parents left for her. She also owns and operates, The Mercantile, a modern mercantile and specialty gift shop in downtown SLO and she just recently opened her new venture, The Hat Bar by Kate Kaney in downtown SLO. ]]>
