RESOURCES
This episode Preparing For the Future While Honoring the Past covers: Resources & Links: Connect with Logan: Connect with Jessie: Be sure to subscribe/follow the show so you never miss an episode! I grew up in Montpelier, ID on a cow/calf operation where I was the fifth generation to be raised. My family homesteaded there and today, my dad and stepmother run the operation under Ipsen Cattle Co. I went on the Utah State University where getting an education in animal science and agbusiness. I had a wonderful experience there where I got very involved and my senior year was the ag senator and had some great experiences there. After college, I was hired by the American Angus Association to cover, CA, NV, AZ, and UT. Spent 5 years there and am so thankful they gave me that opportunity. Jerry York at WLJ approached me about transitioning and we started building that plan. In 2012, I kept the same territory and moved to WLJ. Three years later, Jerry fully retired and I took over the six western states. My focus was marketing campaigns, budgeting, targeted ads, and building the WLJ presence. I never felt I was a salesman, but more as a teammate and try to take that approach to where I’m at now. In 2022, National Livestock, Oklahoma City, OK, purchased WLJ and the transition into role as president took shape. In my role now, I’m tasked with being a team leader, helping our field staff on key accounts, and building the WLJ brand. We have several projects in the works and our main goal is to find ways to bridge the print vs digital gap. ]]>
