ABOUT
SCHOOLS OF THE WEST
One of the hardest things when you are looking for a job is to create a resume that gets attention quickly. The average time that employers look at a resume continues to get shorter each year since COVID-19. People do not read them anymore; they scan for relative content.
I want to show you how you can create a resume that grabs attention in 10 seconds.
Whether it’s a summer job on a dude ranch, managing a western store or a breeding program on a ranch, you want to be remembered.
Here are the four things you need to say at the top right after under the heading.
1. Your job title like assistant store mngr, vet supplies sales, customer service representative, in size 12 print.
2. How long you have done it in years or are you a recent graduate.
3. How large of a company you have worked for in estimated annual sales or estimated number of employees.
4. How much responsibility did you have? What size projects did you work on in dollars or how many customers did you talk to a week, etc.
If you will put these four things together in one sentence you will tell an employer: what you do, how much experience you have, how big of a company you have worked for, and how much you can handle.
Now that you have their attention, you have the opportunity for you to tell them what your skills are and tell them your story to show why you are a top candidate. I hope this helps you be the better you want to be. See you next time!
