ON TODAY’S EPISODE In this episode, The #1 Thing to Change Your Life + Career with Tyson Durfey, we cover: Resources & Links: Connect with Tyson: Connect with Jessie: Be sure to subscribe/follow the show so you never miss an episode! ABOUT TYSON Tyson Durfey is a World Champion Rodeo Athlete, Speaker, Entrepreneur, and Mental Toughness expert. He has mentored thousands of athletes in his No Limits Mentorship Program and continues to push the boundaries of what is possible on a daily basis. Within the last year Tyson has completed The Modern Day Knight Project (Navy Seal Hell Week Style Event) Jumped from an airplane (To Overcome His Fear of Heights) and swam with sharks in the south pacific. Tyson believes that pushing the boundaries and breaking down barriers is the key to winning in life and business. Don’t let Tyson’s bulletproof mindset fool you, It wasn’t always that way. Tyson comes from very humble beginnings working on his family’s small farm where there was always more month than there was money. Tyson also suffered from numerous learning disabilities including being dyslexic and barely able to read as he entered high school. In four years of highschool Tyson went from learning disabilities classes to graduating with honors and taking advanced classes. Tyson’s path to the world championship starts much the same way. Starting from the bottom and working his way to the top. During these years of his life, Tyson went from going flat broke two times and sleeping in the back seat of his truck to being a World Champion and being endorsed by some of the largest companies in the United States. During Tyson’s rodeo career, he branded himself as “The Cowboy In Pink” as he has worn a bright Pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness at over 1,000 rodeos worldwide. Tyson has competed in front of hundreds of thousands of fans in the pink shirt and continues to wear it to this day. The crazy part is that he was only going to it to support his stepmother and her battle. It helped motivate and inspire so many others that he decided to adopt the color into his full-time wardrobe. For 15 years and counting Tyson has competed in the bright pink shirt. Tyson always says “Teaching is just another opportunity to learn” so he is quick to share his experience on social media to lift up, motivate and inspire others. Tyson teaches the techniques he used to become a World Champion athlete to individuals from all walks of life. His belief is that if he shares his knowledge they can “Time Collapse” on it and achieve their goals much faster. He believes in learning from other mistakes as much as possible and avoiding your own. This can only be achieved through committed effort and the sharing of knowledge. Hosted by Jessie Jarvis, the Founder of Of The West, our mission with Leaders Of The West is to foster a community of pioneers, innovators, and leaders who want to be at the forefront of what’s next. Whether it’s a guest episode where we’re digging into the blueprints behind our favorite industry businesses, discussing the innovation and strategies that have allowed family farming and ranching operations to continue on for another generation, to episodes with honest conversations from entrepreneurs who have risked it all on their dreams, or leaders detailing how to create a company culture so strong that you couldn’t pay your employees to leave. These conversations are meant to encourage the leaders of today and inspire the next generation of trailblazers. In addition to bringing in guests, you’ll also find some solo episodes, where Jessie shares the lessons she’s learned throughout her journey as a rancher, entrepreneur, wife, and mother.
