ON TODAY’S EPISODE In this episode, Stepping Into Your Potential with Karlee Peterson, Executive Producer at The Cowboy Channel, we cover: Resources & Links: Connect with Karlee: Connect with Jessie: Be sure to subscribe/follow the show so you never miss an episode! ABOUT KARLEE Born & raised in South Dakota, Karlee has a natural passion for agriculture and the western way of life that’s been instilled from a young age. With appreciation for the sport of rodeo and putting it into play on screen, Karlee has used her skill set learned at school and various roles throughout the industry to capitalize on television production and bring rodeo to the major platform. With education being a major focus for Karlee, she takes any opportunity to learn from others. Karlee spent time with Bass Pro Shops producing photoshoots & national commercials to expand her knowledge, and recently brought that back to the western world, becoming the Executive Producer of Cowboy Channel. She understands that a girl in her 20s with a dream for media production and the love for the land and cowboy way of life, there’s always a story to be told. It’s hard to find your place in this industry and make a name for yourself and Karlee has done that. She has produced the broadcast on some of the biggest events of 2023 such as the Inaugural Governor’s Cup, Larry Mahan Memorial, launching the Cowgirl Channel to EP of the NFR Shows. Karlee’s dedication has led to multiple prestigious broadcast awards including Cynopsis Best of the Best in Sports Programming and the PRCA Excellence in Broadcast Journalism. Karlee comes from a family of 3 girls, where her family was heavy in horse training, going through high school rodeo and so many weather conditions, her understanding of this lifestyle is incomparable. Her need to put the industry on an ever going platform is important and to highlight those who make a difference. MORE ABOUT LEADERS OF THE WEST PODCAST: Leaders Of The West is a podcast for innovators and change-makers in the ag and western industries. Hosted by Jessie Jarvis, the Founder of Of The West, our mission with Leaders Of The West is to foster a community of pioneers, innovators, and leaders who want to be at the forefront of what’s next. Whether it’s a guest episode where we’re digging into the blueprints behind our favorite industry businesses, discussing the innovation and strategies that have allowed family farming and ranching operations to continue on for another generation, to episodes with honest conversations from entrepreneurs who have risked it all on their dreams, or leaders detailing how to create a company culture so strong that you couldn’t pay your employees to leave. These conversations are meant to encourage the leaders of today and inspire the next generation of trailblazers. In addition to bringing in guests, you’ll also find some solo episodes, where Jessie shares the lessons she’s learned throughout her journey as a rancher, entrepreneur, wife, and mother.
