Krista Manley of Weatherford, Texas, was ready for a change. She had spent 10 years owning and operating Tribe West Boutique. However, she wasn’t ready to leave her passion for Western retail behind.
Then, Krista saw that Teskey’s Saddlery was searching for a Visual Merchandiser. She immediately reached out about the opportunity.
The position offered the change Krista wanted. It also allowed her to bring her boutique experience into a larger Western retail business.
Building and operating Tribe West Boutique gave Krista firsthand experience in the many details that shape a retail business. From understanding what appeals to customers to recognizing how product selection and presentation work together, her time as a business owner created a strong foundation for her next move.
Krista can now use that experience as Visual Merchandiser at Teskey’s. The position keeps her connected to the industry and work she enjoys most.
“This move has been long awaited and an answered prayer for sure,” Krista said. “I never thought I would feel this at home outside of my own business, but Teskey’s has felt like home since my first day of working there.”
That sense of familiarity has made the transition especially meaningful. Krista describes her new workplace as fun, family-oriented, and closely connected to the passion that first led her into boutique ownership.
“It’s familiar, it’s my passion, and it’s something I absolutely can see myself growing with and doing for the long haul,” she said. “Not once have I felt unsure or second-guessed my decision to take the job.”
For Krista, this move isn’t about leaving her previous experience behind. Instead, it’s an opportunity to carry everything she learned as a small business owner into a new role and continue growing within western retail.
She also values the family-built and operated culture at Teskey’s, which reminds her of the values behind the business she spent a decade building.
“I’m staying within my passion, and I look forward to going to work the next day,” Krista said.
Krista discovered the Visual Merchandiser opportunity through Of The West, making her new role another exciting example of how the right opportunity can lead to an unexpected, and deeply fitting, next chapter.
Congratulations on your new role, Krista!
