ON TODAY’S EPISODE In this episode, A New Chapter for Mesa Pate and Art of the Cowgirl, we cover: Resources & Links: Connect with Mesa: Connect with Jessie: Be sure to subscribe/follow the show so you never miss an episode! ABOUT MESA Mesa Pate was born and raised in the ranching community of Montana. Her life began on a ranch, and that way of life runs deep in her veins. Growing up her parents traveled the country putting on horse training demonstrations and clinics. Mesa was exposed to different people and cultures and all different types of cattle, horses, and training, roping, and cattle handling techniques from a very young age. Mesa became involved in the bucking bull industry at 18, hauling bulls to PBRs for years, and was one of few women making a living as a stock contractor at that time. Mesa spent close to 15 years in the bucking bull industry. Being involved in event production, seeing up close and personal the inner workings of PBR events, and helping produce sales really set her up for what was to come. In 2018 Mesa’s mom, Tammy Pate, decided to start planning an event that had been on her heart for years. She recruited Mesa to help by producing the competition and horse sale aspects of the event. And in 2019 Art of the Cowgirl began. Art of the Cowgirl was designed to spotlight women in the western world, while sharing the stories of their families, marriages, and partnerships that, in turn, shaped them. Art of the Cowgirl is about cultural traditions and continues to help women celebrate, gather, and connect around horses and western art. In 2021 Mesa welcomed her son, Haize Page. She continues her work with Art of the Cowgirl, along with raising and training performance and ranch horses. MORE ABOUT LEADERS OF THE WEST PODCAST: Leaders Of The West is a podcast for innovators and change-makers in the ag and western industries. Hosted by Jessie Jarvis, the Founder of Of The West, our mission with Leaders Of The West is to foster a community of pioneers, innovators, and leaders who want to be at the forefront of what’s next. Whether it’s a guest episode where we’re digging into the blueprints behind our favorite industry businesses, discussing the innovation and strategies that have allowed family farming and ranching operations to continue on for another generation, to episodes with honest conversations from entrepreneurs who have risked it all on their dreams, or leaders detailing how to create a company culture so strong that you couldn’t pay your employees to leave. These conversations are meant to encourage the leaders of today and inspire the next generation of trailblazers. In addition to bringing in guests, you’ll also find some solo episodes, where Jessie shares the lessons she’s learned throughout her journey as a rancher, entrepreneur, wife, and mother. Whether you’re a farmer, a rancher, an equine lover, someone headed up the leadership ladder, an ag business owner, a western sports athlete, an entrepreneur, or someone who just loves the western way of life—this is the place for you. You’ll find new episodes every week. Don’t forget to subscribe, so you never miss a show!]]>
