Greg Bohl of Fort Worth, Texas, has joined Ranchbot Monitoring Solutions, Inc. as Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer.
In this role, Greg will lead Ranchbot’s artificial intelligence strategy, products, and development. The position brings together his professional expertise in AI and his personal passion for ranching.
Before joining Ranchbot, Greg served as Chief Data Officer at Transaction Network Services. His new role allows him to apply that data and technology experience within the cattle industry.
For Greg, the move represents more than a new leadership position. It gives him the opportunity to combine two important parts of his life.
“Being the CAIO for Ranchbot is a passion job for me,” Greg said. “Cattle ranching is what I enjoy when I’m not working. When I’m working, I focus on artificial intelligence innovation.”
Now, Greg gets to explore how AI can solve real problems for ranchers. He also gets to help Ranchbot use the technology responsibly and effectively.
“Many people dream of combining their work and hobbies,” Greg said. “I’m living it at Ranchbot!”
Greg’s first priority is to establish AI governance across Ranchbot. This framework will guide how the company builds, manages, and uses artificial intelligence. It will also help Ranchbot remain responsible to its employees, customers, and shareholders.
His second goal focuses on using AI within the company. Greg wants each application to bring clear and measurable value to Ranchbot’s work.
“I don’t want people to use AI for the sake of saying they’re using it,” he said. “The use must provide measurable value above current methods of work.”
Finally, Greg plans to help develop AI-based products for the cattle industry. During his first year, the team will establish core tools and define practical use cases. They will also create ways for ranches to adopt those tools and see meaningful results.
This final goal excites Greg the most. He wants Ranchbot’s technology to make a noticeable difference in the daily operations of cattle businesses.
“I want ranchers to say they cannot operate their cattle business without Ranchbot,” Greg said.
Greg starts each morning thinking about ways to apply AI within the cattle business. As Ranchbot’s first CAIO, he can now turn those ideas into strategies, tools, and products for the industry he loves.
Congratulations on your new role, Greg!
