Of The West is getting an upgrade!
We have been working behind the scenes to improve the platform experience for job seekers and employers across ag + western industries. These updates will make profiles easier to manage, job applications clearer, and hiring tools more helpful.
Some changes will be easy to spot as soon as you log in. Others will simply make the platform work better. Here is an early look at what is changing.
Speaking of changes that are easy to spot once you log in, this is one of those! Jobs are now listed in two side-by-side panes, the left pane being where you scroll through positions, and the right pane expands to show all details about the job you’ve selected.
You can still save jobs, send jobs to other people, and apply for positions just as you always have, but the process for all is much more seamless.
The search function has also become more robust, providing users with faster and more efficient search results.
Once a job seeker has logged in, they’ll be taken directly to their Jobs Dashboard, where they can easily see all jobs they’ve applied for, saved, and businesses they’ve saved, all in one place.

The Of The West Resume Database is becoming the OTW Profile.
Instead of displaying a resume-style document, your OTW Profile gives you a better way to introduce yourself, share your work experience, highlight your skills, and show employers what you could bring to their team.
Your OTW Profile will no longer serve as an application document. When you apply for a job, you’ll follow the employer’s application instructions and upload your resume as a PDF.
This lets your OTW Profile and your resume do two different jobs. Your profile helps employers discover and learn more about you, while your resume can be tailored to the specific position you’re applying for.
With this in mind, now’s a great time to log in and make sure your OTW Profile reflects the information you want employers to see.
You’ll now be able to tell right away whether a job is still open or has closed, so you’re not left guessing or wasting time on a listing that’s no longer active.
Clicking into a job to see more details no longer takes you away from your list. You can view a job, then jump right back to exactly where you were browsing, no scrolling back to find your spot.
Sometimes plans change, and now your application status can reflect that!
Job seekers will be able to withdraw an application after applying for a position. Whether you have accepted another opportunity or decided the role is not the right fit, you will have more control over your active applications. Once you withdraw your application, you will not be able to undo that action or reapply for the role (unless it’s posted again in the future), so this feature does need to be used with care!
If you have both an OTW Profile and an Of The West Directory profile, you will now be able to manage both under one login.
You will have one central place to update your information and manage your presence across Of The West.
The employer dashboard just got a full refresh, with a cleaner layout that makes it easier to see what matters most. Managing multiple businesses? You can now do it all from one login. That’s a big win for fractional HR staff, recruiters, or anyone hiring across a parent company’s brands.
We rebuilt the job posting flow from the ground up. You’ll still add all the same details (title, salary range, location, job type, description, screening questions, and where to apply), but the process itself is faster and far more intuitive. Along the way, you’ll see best-practice cards with tips for strengthening your listing, so it’s easier to write something that actually attracts the right candidates. Look for the pencil icon anywhere you want to edit; that’s your cue that the section is ready for your input.
Salary is now captured as an actual minimum and maximum, not just a written description. This also sets the stage for job seekers to filter jobs by pay range in the future, so a clear number now means better visibility later.
Not every role has a hard closing date. Now you can list a job as open until filled instead of locking in a specific date, giving you more flexibility for ongoing or hard-to-fill positions.
Single-purchase listings now show a 45-day countdown, and that countdown pauses anytime your listing isn’t in Open status. That means you’re never losing paid days to a status change outside your control.
If you accept applicants directly through Of The West, this update is for you. Sort candidates by any column (name, email, score, rating, and more), search by name or email, and pull up a quick popup to view or edit a candidate’s information without leaving the list. Vote candidates up or down, leave notes visible to your whole team, and move everyone through your interview pipeline with a lot less clicking around.
Job seekers will no longer be able to apply using an Of The West profile or platform-built resume. Every applicant will need to follow the employer’s application instructions and upload a resume as a PDF.
For employers, this means every application will include a downloadable resume that can be easily reviewed, saved, or shared with other members of the hiring team.
This update applies to both job seekers and employers, and it fixes one of the most common points of confusion on the platform.
When adding a website or social media account to your profile, you will now be able to copy and paste the complete URL. You will no longer need to remove part of the link or determine which section the platform requires.
Just copy the full link, paste it into the appropriate field, and you are set.
Whether you’re browsing jobs, checking out a business, or looking for the right professional in our Directory, the public side of Of The West got a major facelift too.
Business Profile pages now give visitors a cleaner, more informative view of each employer, with open positions listed right alongside. Directory Profile pages got the same treatment, with a fresh layout that showcases services, portfolio, categories, and contact details all in one place.
Directory search is also easier to use, so browsing and filtering to find the right professional takes less time.
And all of it, across every public page, is now fully mobile-responsive.
These updates are about more than giving the platform a new look. They are designed to make Of The West easier to use and more effective for the people building careers, businesses, and teams across ag + western industries.
And we have a lot more updates coming this fall, including a new “library” where you can find business profiles for all companies who hire through Of The West, a brand new Job Alert system, and many other incredible user-requested features!
We built Of The West because this industry deserves a place dedicated to the people who live and work in it. Continuing to improve that place is an important part of our work.
We cannot wait for you to experience the updated platform!
