ABOUT
SCHOOLS OF THE WEST

This week on Leaders of the West, Jessie sits down with Brian Moates, Head of Farm and Partner Experience at our Farms — a fast-growing marketplace working to reshape how consumers connect with the people who produce their food. With a background spanning motorsports, marketing, and building digital experiences for brands like Ford and Lincoln, Brian brings a unique perspective to agriculture and the future of food.
In the episode, Brian chats:
Brian Moates brings a unique blend of agricultural heritage and modern business leadership to his work in farm and partner experience. Rooted in a childhood spent working alongside his grandfather and extended family on their farms, and holding a degree in Agricultural Systems Management from Purdue University, Brian carries forward the values of hard work, trust, and stewardship that are foundational to the farming community.
Over the past two decades, Brian has built a career helping organizations deliver exceptional client experiences through operational clarity, strategic onboarding, and scalable relationship systems. He has led client engagement and customer success initiatives for major brands including Ford Motor Company, Lincoln, Meineke Car Care, Bojangles, Denny’s, Dairy Queen, Speedway Motorsports, and International Speedway Corporation. Much of his work has focused on guiding automotive retailers and franchise organizations through digital transformation to become more consumer-centric and experience-driven.
At Our Farms, Brian applies this experience to support farm partners through a high-touch engagement model – ensuring they feel equipped, informed, and empowered at every step. His strength lies in aligning people, processes, and purpose, delivering not just systems, but the confidence and clarity needed to grow.
Whether in the field or in the boardroom, Brian remains committed to helping people thrive – through empathy, operational excellence, and a deep respect for the work they do.
Leaders Of The West is a podcast for innovators and change-makers in the ag and western industries. Hosted by Jessie Jarvis, the Founder of Of The West, our mission with Leaders Of The West is to foster a community of pioneers, innovators, and leaders who want to be at the forefront of what’s next.
Whether it’s a guest episode where we’re digging into the blueprints behind our favorite industry businesses, discussing the innovation and strategies that have allowed family farming and ranching operations to continue on for another generation, to episodes with honest conversations from entrepreneurs who have risked it all on their dreams, or leaders detailing how to create a company culture so strong that you couldn’t pay your employees to leave.
These conversations are meant to encourage the leaders of today and inspire the next generation of trailblazers.
In addition to bringing in guests, you’ll also find some solo episodes, where Jessie shares the lessons she’s learned throughout her journey as a rancher, entrepreneur, wife, and mother.
Whether you’re a farmer, a rancher, an equine lover, someone headed up the leadership ladder, an ag business owner, a western sports athlete, an entrepreneur, or someone who just loves the western way of life—this is the place for you.
You’ll find new episodes every week. Don’t forget to subscribe, so you never miss a show!
