Of The West was built out of necessity. We saw a gap in the way people find careers, hire talent, and connect within the agriculture and western industries. Traditional job boards weren’t cutting it. Businesses struggled to find employees who understood their world, and job seekers had a hard time uncovering the right opportunities. Freelancers and small businesses? They were practically invisible to those who needed their expertise.
So, we built a platform that speaks directly to the agriculture and western way of life. At Of The West, we’re a team of passionate professionals who believe in the power of connection. We come from the agriculture and western industries ourselves, and we’re dedicated to helping job seekers, employers, and independent professionals succeed.

Founder & CEO
Jessie Jarvis
Jessie was born and raised on her family’s cattle ranch in Southern Idaho, which at an early age, instilled in her the importance of a strong work ethic, and a deep appreciation for the American West.
In addition to her lifelong involvement raising cattle, Jessie has had over a decade’s worth of experience in print and digital media, both writing for and producing various agriculture and western fashion publications, as well as freelancing in ag and western communications.
As someone who has been on all sides of the spectrum—as a job seeker, a business owner, someone looking for various service providers, and as a freelancer—Jessie deeply understands the obstacles one must navigate when job hunting or looking to hire for employment or project purposes in the west.
Jessie’s proudest accomplishment(s) in life is that of her family—her husband Justin, her son, Jhett, and baby girl, Jaxyn.

Sarah Wilson
Sarah Wilson is Of The West’s Communications and Social Media Manager. With a professional background in communications, career and professional development, and leadership training, her skills allow her to understand both employers and job seekers, and their separate needs. She holds a deep passion for the ag + western industries, not only because she was born, raised, and married into a farming/ranching family, but because she is often surrounded by folks with the same profession, whom she believes to be the most selfless, hardworking, and wonderful people in the world.
Sarah is a born and raised Texan and lover of adventure. You can usually find Sarah, and her husband Colton, on the golf course, on a hiking trail, or exploring somewhere new. The way she attempts to live her life can be summed up by this Maya Angelou quote saying, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style."
